Spring is finally here, and the Touch a Truck Events are starting to pop up in Columbus! I’ve put together a list of Touch a Truck events happening around the area. I’ll keep this list updated as I see more, so check it often. For more details, please visit the event page or website of each event.

Touch-a-Truck and Open House

Saturday, April 20: 10am at Jersey Weekday Preschool & Kindergarten

Join us for a morning filled with food, music, school tours & hands-on opportunities to explore, climb and touch emergency response vehicles, tractors, heavy machinery and other equipment.

Touch the Truck

Saturday, April 27: 11am-2pm at Grove City United Methodist Church

Bring out your family to this amazing event! They can see and touch the trucks and vehicles here! Meet the drivers ! Crafts and vendors will be attending too. Food trucks… please bring gently used clothing and non perishable food for their local mission project with the schools! Their outreach is amazing in the community, come out and support this amazing cause.

Visit With a Recycling Truck

Saturday, April 27: 2pm-3pm at Hanby Park

Explore a recycling truck from Rumpke Waste Management. Ask questions about trash pickup and recycling services and learn about the different parts of the truck.

For ages 2-7, parents or caregivers (age 18+) must remain in the room to supervise for the duration of the event. Note: In the case of inclement weather, this visit will be cancelled. 

Powell Touch a Truck

Friday, May 3: 9:30am at Adventure Park

Enjoy an afternoon of climbing, pretending and exploring different kinds of vehicles at this year’s Touch–a–Truck event! Dozens of vehicles will fill parking lot for you to explore. The focus of Touch-a-Truck is to present children with an opportunity to touch, climb on, and pretend to drive vehicles they may see regularly in their community. This event also does double duty by educating youngsters about various aspects of the vehicles, such as their size, function, and more! This is one of the most anticipated events of every spring in Powell.


Saturday, May 4: 10am-12pm at Pickerington Community Pool

Come by the Pickerington Community Pool parking lot to see all your favorite trucks and equipment.  Kids will be able to see the ins and outs of all vehicle and receive a free Kids Driver’s License.

Touch a Truck

Friday, May 10: 10am-12pm at Hilliard Station Park

Climb, touch, and take a photo with the trucks you see daily in the community. Decorate your own helmet and enjoy inflatables, Paw Patrol strolling character, Norwich Township fire truck, Hilliard police cruiser, tow trucks, semi, and more!

Upper Arlington Spring Fling (with Touch-a-Truck)

Saturday, May 11: 11am-2pm at Sunny 95 Park

Help us welcome spring in style at our annual Spring Fling family event! Touch-a-Truck is better than ever. Kids and adults alike can explore a variety of City service and safety vehicles and meet the people who bring outstanding services to the community!
Additional highlights include inflatables, carnival games, arts & crafts, balloon sculpting, live music and more. Plus, we preview some of this summer’s programs.

Music in the Park (With Touch-A-Truck)

Friday, May 17: 6pm-9pm at Stradley Park in Canal Winchester

Check out public works and public safety vehicles from Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, Madison Township Police, Madison Township Fire Department, Franklin County Public Health, South Central Power, and City of Canal Winchester!

Experience Public Works Day

Saturday, May 18: 9am-12pm at Dublin City Service Center

Bring your kiddos to explore the public vehicles they see around our city. Fun will be had at every turn! They can climb in and out of the trucks, paint a slow plow blade, race tricycles and jump around in bouncy houses. Plus, grab some yummy food at one of the food trucks!

Touch A Truck

Saturday, May 18: 11pm-1pm at Galloway Sports Complex

Come out to the Galloway Sports Complex and climb around in some of the vehicles that help keep the Township safe and running smooth.

Grove City Public Service Touch-A-Truck

Saturday, May 18: 10am-12pm at Town Center Park

Join the Grove City Public Service Department for an up-close and personal experience with all their favorite vehicles around the city. Meet the women and men who plan, manage and improve the quality of life in Grove City.

Friday, June 7: 10am-1pm at Mill Valley Park Central

Come join us for our exciting Touch a Truck event! This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for kids of all ages to explore a variety of construction, emergency, and service vehicles. Attendees will have the chance to meet and interact with the City employees who operate these impressive machines. Don’t miss out on this fun and educational experience!

Touch a Truck 2024

Saturday, June 8: 10am-1pm at Buckeye Valley High School

So many trucks to see and explore. Join DCEMS, Tri-Township Fire District, and so many others for a fun, free, family day with lots vehicles big and small that you can see up close and in person. Ambulances, fire trucks, police cars, tow trucks and so many others (including a helicopter if the weather is nice) will be on display. Canned Food donations will be collected to benefit People in Need of Delaware.


The Science of Big Machines at COSI

Saturday, June 8 – Sunday, June 16The Science of Big Machines will be located on the west side of COSI, next to Dorrian Green Park, and is included with COSI General Admission and Memberships. A variety of equipment will be on hand to discover.

Touch a City Truck

Friday, June 14: 10:30am-11:30am at Miller Park Branch

See various vehicles up close when the City of Upper Arlington Public Works Division visits the library with their equipment. Outdoors, program will be rescheduled if inclement weather.

Plain City Touch A Truck

Friday, June 14: 5pm-8pm at Pastime Park

Cops & Kids Day

Saturday, June 15:11am-2pm at Hoff Woods Park in Westerville

Agencies throughout the state attend this annual event. Cruisers, helicopters, motorcycles, tactical vehicles, and K-9s will be on display. Kids are also able to participate in arts and crafts, inflatable gyms, and other activities. Local hospitals and safety organizations also attend the event and provide various child safety materials, promotional items, and other interactive exercises.

KidX Touch a Truck Event

Tuesday, June 18: pm-7pm at Polaris Fashion Place

Join us for another Polaris Fashion Place KidX event! We’ll be in our outdoor Polaris Lifestyle Center space for a Touch-A-Truck event from 5-7PM. Programming will include an interactive truck playground for families and children to get up close to their favorite vehicles – and other family friendly entertainment!

Touch-A-Truck at Texas Roadhouse

Monday, June 24: 5pm-7pm at Texas Roadhouse, 5940 E. Main St., Columbus

We’ll have vehicles from the City of Reynoldsburg PD, Truro Township Fire Department, City of Whitehall PD, Pataskala PD, and more!
The fun will also include:
– DJ, photo booth, and inflatable obstacle course from Boland Entertainment
– Face painting with the members of Heartless Elite Basketball team – Desserts, frozen lemonade, and cotton candy sold by Destiny Treats & Design
– Rock painting
– An appearance from Andy Armadillo, and lots of FUN!

Wetsuits & Way-cool Truck

Friday, June 28: 10am-11:30am at Dublin Community Recreation Overflow Parking Lot!

Bring your family, friends, or neighborhood playgroup for a morning of fun! The Washington Township Fire Department will have a variety of activities to help make your summer safe.

Second Saturday: Hometown Heroes

Saturday, July 13: 12pm-2pm at Tanger Outlets Columbus

Join us for FREE Family Fun! Enjoy live music, food trucks, sidewalk sales, crafts, and more! This month, touch-a-truck with our local fire department, Delaware EMS, Sheriff’s Office and more friends.

Dozers & Diggers

Saturday, July 13: 9am-2pm at The Works, Newark

We’re rounding up big trucks and exploring machine science! Families are invited to get an up-close view of the trucks, lifts, bull dozers, and other big machines that get things done in our community. Jump in, climb around, and speak to the people who operate these extraordinary machines! The day includes live demonstrations & family activities.

Sensory hour: From 9 am to 10 am there will be reduced loud noises and sirens.


Thursday, July 18: 2pm-3pm at London Public Library

See community vehicles up close!
See vehicles up close and learn how they help our community. London Fire Department, London Police Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, London Sanitation Department, and London Street Department will all be participating! (All ages)
Friday, July 26: 4pm-7pm at Sharon Woods Metro Park
See, touch and explore a variety of Metro Parks trucks, tractors and heavy equipment. Meet a Park Ranger, make a craft, learn to use a two-hand saw, and much more!

Touch a Truck 2024

Saturday, July 27: 9am-12pm at Olentangy Berlin High School

Join us from 9am-noon to see vehicles up close including ambulances, fire trucks, police cars, tow trucks and so many others (including a helicopter if the weather is nice) and meet the people who operate them. Canned food and box fan donations will be collected to benefit People in Need of Delaware.

Touch a Truck Community Day

Saturday, August 3: 11am-2pm at Colony Square Mall

Hands-on family fun! Touch! Climb! Explore! Honk! Discover the vehicles and meet the community support leaders and first responders who serve our community. Fire trucks, police vehicles, ambulances, heavy equipment, semis and more! Located in the front mall parking lot.

National Night Out (with Touch a Truck)

Tuesday, August 6: 5pm-8pm at Wyman Woods Park

FREE Food Sponsored by Pathways Financial Credit Union
Touch a Truck Sponsored by Capital Towing and Recovery
Inflatables Sponsored by Chick-fil-A Grandview Yard
Vendors– over 30 sponsors and community partners will be lining the park with activities and information for the community.
FREE Child ID Kits will be handed out to the first 100 kids at the GH Police Table.

Friday, August 9: 10am-12pm at Westerville Sports Complex (Sensory Hour is 9am-10am)

Bring your preschoolers for an up-close experience with a variety of construction equipment, police cars, fire engines and service vehicles that are usually seen from a distance.

Back to School Bash Touch-A-Truck

Sunday, August 11: 11am-2pm at Liberty Park

This FREE event coincides with a visit from the nationally acclaimed Peach Truck. Join us for tons of trucks (food trucks included), educational resources, and more! Sunday, August 11th from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

  • Meet the Ohio health team of providers and associates
  • FREE giveaways from OhioHealth
  • Roundtown Cruisers Car Show
