Spring is finally here, and the Touch a Truck Events are starting to pop up in Columbus! I’ve put together a list of Touch a Truck events happening around the area. I’ll keep this list updated as I see more, so check it often. For more details, please visit the event page or website of each event.

Saturday, April 20: 10am at Jersey Weekday Preschool & Kindergarten
Join us for a morning filled with food, music, school tours & hands-on opportunities to explore, climb and touch emergency response vehicles, tractors, heavy machinery and other equipment.
Saturday, April 27: 11am-2pm at Grove City United Methodist Church
Bring out your family to this amazing event! They can see and touch the trucks and vehicles here! Meet the drivers ! Crafts and vendors will be attending too. Food trucks… please bring gently used clothing and non perishable food for their local mission project with the schools! Their outreach is amazing in the community, come out and support this amazing cause.
Saturday, April 27: 2pm-3pm at Hanby Park
Explore a recycling truck from Rumpke Waste Management. Ask questions about trash pickup and recycling services and learn about the different parts of the truck.
For ages 2-7, parents or caregivers (age 18+) must remain in the room to supervise for the duration of the event. Note: In the case of inclement weather, this visit will be cancelled.
Friday, May 3: 9:30am at Adventure Park
Enjoy an afternoon of climbing, pretending and exploring different kinds of vehicles at this year’s Touch–a–Truck event! Dozens of vehicles will fill parking lot for you to explore. The focus of Touch-a-Truck is to present children with an opportunity to touch, climb on, and pretend to drive vehicles they may see regularly in their community. This event also does double duty by educating youngsters about various aspects of the vehicles, such as their size, function, and more! This is one of the most anticipated events of every spring in Powell.
Saturday, May 4: 10am-12pm at Pickerington Community Pool
Come by the Pickerington Community Pool parking lot to see all your favorite trucks and equipment. Kids will be able to see the ins and outs of all vehicle and receive a free Kids Driver’s License.
Friday, May 10: 10am-12pm at Hilliard Station Park
Climb, touch, and take a photo with the trucks you see daily in the community. Decorate your own helmet and enjoy inflatables, Paw Patrol strolling character, Norwich Township fire truck, Hilliard police cruiser, tow trucks, semi, and more!

Check out public works and public safety vehicles from Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, Madison Township Police, Madison Township Fire Department, Franklin County Public Health, South Central Power, and City of Canal Winchester!
Saturday, May 18: 9am-12pm at Dublin City Service Center
Bring your kiddos to explore the public vehicles they see around our city. Fun will be had at every turn! They can climb in and out of the trucks, paint a slow plow blade, race tricycles and jump around in bouncy houses. Plus, grab some yummy food at one of the food trucks!
Saturday, May 18: 12pm-2pm at Galloway Sports Complex
Come out to the Galloway Sports Complex and climb around in some of the vehicles that help keep the Township safe and running smooth.
Grove City Public Service Touch-A-Truck
Saturday, May 18: 10am-12pm at Town Center Park
Join the Grove City Public Service Department for an up-close and personal experience with all their favorite vehicles around the city. Meet the women and men who plan, manage and improve the quality of life in Grove City.
Friday, June 7: 10am-1pm at Mill Valley Park Central
Come join us for our exciting Touch a Truck event! This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for kids of all ages to explore a variety of construction, emergency, and service vehicles. Attendees will have the chance to meet and interact with the City employees who operate these impressive machines. Don’t miss out on this fun and educational experience!
The Science of Big Machines at COSI
Saturday, June 8 – Sunday, June 16The Science of Big Machines will be located on the west side of COSI, next to Dorrian Green Park, and is included with COSI General Admission and Memberships. A variety of equipment will be on hand to discover.
Friday, June 14: 10:30am-11:30am at Miller Park Branch
See various vehicles up close when the City of Upper Arlington Public Works Division visits the library with their equipment. Outdoors, program will be rescheduled if inclement weather.
Tuesday, June 18: pm-7pm at Polaris Fashion Place
Join us for another Polaris Fashion Place KidX event! We’ll be in our outdoor Polaris Lifestyle Center space for a Touch-A-Truck event from 5-7PM. Programming will include an interactive truck playground for families and children to get up close to their favorite vehicles – and other family friendly entertainment!
Saturday, July 13: 9am-2pm at The Works, Newark
We’re rounding up big trucks and exploring machine science! Families are invited to get an up-close view of the trucks, lifts, bull dozers, and other big machines that get things done in our community. Jump in, climb around, and speak to the people who operate these extraordinary machines! The day includes live demonstrations & family activities.
Sensory hour: From 9 am to 10 am there will be reduced loud noises and sirens.
