Meet Robbi! | Columbus Moms Network

How many kids do you have and what are their ages?

I have two kiddos, 12 and 9.

How long have you lived in Columbus and what brought you here?

I came to very North Columbus (Delaware) to attend Ohio Wesleyan in 1999 and except for a couple of summers home and a year away for Grad School have lived in the Columbus area ever since.

What are some of your favorite family activities to do together?

We enjoy visiting local parks, museums, and the Zoo. I have passed down my love for amusement parks and theme parks to my children and we love going to those places as a family!

Tell us about your business, and a little bit about how you got started.

I have been a Travel Advisor since 2018. A friend of mine who was a Travel Advisor thought I would be a great fit for her agency so she talked to me about it and the rest is history 🙂

What do you love about your job?

I get to help people create their dream vacations!

What are some of the benefits of using a travel agent when planning a family vacation?

Different Travel Advisors work in a variety of ways but when a client hires me, I try to find the best vacation that meets their vacation goals and budget, I provide options and then break down the steps of the planning process so it is not so overwhelming and, in most cases, I can do this without charging an additional fee for my services.

Where is your favorite place to travel?

I LOVE Disney and I travel to Walt Disney World several times a year, I also adore Universal Orlando but have been so fortunate to travel to some amazing places in Mexico, Brazil, and Israel in my lifetime.

What does a typical day look like for you?

After getting the kids off to school, I am usually at my computer doing quotes, preparing documents, answering emails, working on social media, or on phone calls between 9:00 a.m.- and 4:00 p.m. I switch into Mom mode for after-school activities, or family things in the evenings, and a couple of nights during the week I do have to make myself available for client calls for those who are not available during the day.

How do you juggle work and being a mom?

I am always available for clients while they are traveling in case of emergencies. This means I always take a laptop even on my vacations, but I have tried to set aside weekends as time for family. It is hard to get everything done and to make it all work, but prioritizing time with family is so important.

What is the best piece of advice you have received from another mom?

Have a sense of humor, do not take yourself too seriously.
